January 8, 2006G. era un hombre sensible, amante de la música, de los viajes cortos y largos, de las mujeres y de la vida bohemia. Nació en PN, y creció con sus hermanos en un hogar complicado y violento. Salió de su pueblo hacia la capital con su familia, como muchos otros colombianos, hijos de la violencia. Y empezó a fumar a los 14 años. Y leía compulsivamente, le gustaban la publicidad, las novelas macondianas y tomarse unos tragos con los amigos.
Viajó a C, donde conoció a L, con quien se casó después de un viaje a otro país. Tuvo tres hijos que amó con el alma y que siempre, a pesar de la distancia lo sintieron cercano.

Fue alcohólico, quizás por el deseo de no tener presente el pasado, que lo perseguía. Por eso le gustaban el ciclismo, los libros y los carros: quería huir, era necesario. Del dolor, del miedo, de sí mismo.
Y siguió huyendo, separándose inevitable y dolorosamente de los que amaba. Murió una tarde de mayo, lluviosa y fría, como la de hoy. En ese año, 1999, su hija mayor tuvo un sueño, donde un gato azul en el tejado lo miraba por la ventana, a su lado una botella medio vacía, un cigarrillo en la mano y la bicicleta contra la pared.
